Breathtaking New Year Vienna hosted the EBA New year reception and festive Silvesterball. The whole capital glittered with celebration lights and fascinating Christmas trees. The warmth and glow of this spirit was carried forward to Europe Business Assembly exciting New Year’s Eve highlights: the Europe Business Assembly Reception and Socrates Awards Night at the Pallavicini Palace and the Silvester New Year’s Ball at the Austrian emperor’s residence, The Hofburg.
Festive programme started with Wiener Heurigen Show at the famous Wolff Wine Tavern. The harmonious blend of genuine ambience and traditional wine culture are the ingredients of its success as Vienna's finest wine tavern. The talented musicians of the Wiener Heurigen Show, supported by singers and charming dancers, entertained audience with a selection of famous waltz melodies, polkas, and romantic arias & duets from famous operettas.
The programme culmination was a Solemn Awards Night where EBA recognised leading regional companies and outstanding personalities with prestigious international awards for excellence in business, economy, science and social live. EBA new year reception became a brilliant platform for informal contacts and establishing new relations with partners from 3 continents. A festive Gala Dinner in honor of the EBA awards recipients was held afterwards. Reception guests enjoyed classical music performed by virtuoso quartet and best of Vienna culinary delights.
This year’s Grand Silvesterball highlighted the excellent orchestra and top-class performers from the Vienna State Opera, the Volksoper as well as a variety of rhythms from big-name bands and orchestras, waltz music and jazz. The traditional Blue Danube Waltz and the popular public quadrille in the imperial staterooms of the world-famous Hofburg, as well as a spectacular fireworks display on Heldenplatz and the ringing of the Pummerin bells at St. Stephen’s Cathedral, made this event truly unforgettable.
