About the International ‘Science and Education’ Competition

 THE CLUB OF THE RECTORS OF EUROPE represents an amazing opportunity to celebrate the excellence and outstanding achievements of higher education institutions in the international ‘Science and Education’ competition. We look forward to a wealth of strong contenders showing talent and creativity. If you believe that your institution, staff or management deserves recognition, get your entries in now and good luck.


Our goals and objectives

To support the pioneers of new knowledge and inspire others to do the same; to develop databases in order to promote the best educational institutions, educational programmes, professors and teachers; to encourage the academic, creative and social activity of teachers and students; and to support, professionalize and recognize innovative academic practice.

The Club of the Rectors of Europe (CRE)and the Socrates Committee (Oxford, UK).


Participation procedure

The competition is open to all higher education institutions, teachers, scientists, students and anyone else involved in higher education. 

In 2013 the voting in the International ‘Science and Education’ Competition is closed. All your votes and entries, submitted after 10 December, 2013 will be considered during the International competition "Science and Education" in 2014.


Judging process 

The Academic Council puts the submitted information about the entrants on the online Leaders Network, grouped by categories. The winners for each category will be decided by a free online vote on the site of Europe Business Assembly (EBA) www.summitofleaders.co.uk, also taking into account any information in the press, and the views of a committee of experts and a jury. The voters could be students, teaching staff or anyone concerned.

This committee consists of the Academic Council of the CRE (Chairman, Professor W. Goodheer) and a panel of expert professionals from leading educational institutions and research centres including Lucy Mullins, Consultant.

Announcement of winners and award ceremony

Information about the winners will be posted on the site of the Europe Business Assembly (www.summitofleaders.co.uk), as well as in the annual edition of the Socrates Almanac, the official publication of the ‘Science and Education’ Oxford Summit of Leaders. The winners will exhibit their work at the exhibition forum(express exhibition) in Oxford. These exhibits will also be sent to a session of the Oxford Summit of Rectors in December 2013. At this session, the winners will be awarded personal certificates.
