The dictionary contains approximately 7,000 entries dealing with banking, finance, accounting, investment and stock market practice. The dictionary is the result of lexicographical research of the modern banking terminological system, carried out by the teachers of the University in cooperation with the experts of the Department of Foreign Economic Relations of the National Bank of Ukraine. During the research the authors compared the terminological systems of the English and Ukrainian languages; analyzed and defined the peculiarities of functioning and specificity of translation of basic banking notions; discovered the processes of word formation of modern banking terms and selected the proper Ukrainian equivalents. The research of the specific nature of the banking terminological system enabled to adjust and classify the notions frequently used in banking practice. Thus, the edition presents both commonly used terms and collocations that are still actual and the new ones reflecting the latest tendencies in bank performance. The dictionary contains a didactic component including contractions, Latin collocations used in financial and bank documents; useful phrases for academic writing as well as the ratios of bank performance. The dictionary can be in use for experts of the Language sectors of banks, for students of banking, finance and economic faculties, teachers, graduate students, researchers, bank workers.
